Linkki ticket products
Customer and age groups
- Children aged 0–16 (children under 7 years of age only need a ticket if traveling alone)
- Young people aged 17–24
- Students aged 25 and over *
- Adults aged 25 and over
- Senior 65 years
* Discounted student tickets can only be purchased by full-time students. Students under 25 years of age travel at the same discounted price with a youth ticket.
Descriptions of ticket products
Single ticket
There are three types of single tickets available for Linkki public transport: cash tickets, contactless payment ticket and mobile tickets.
Linkki single tickets are valid on green Linkki buses on routes S1-S6, 3-46, 140, 141 and 143, as well as on Jyväskylä Linkki-VIP service buses.
In regional transport services (Waltti service), Linkki single tickets are only valid as mobile tickets.
1. Cash ticket
- Ticket to be purchased from the driver in cash, preferably with exact change (max. €20)
- The price is determined based on the customer group and travel zones; tickets for children or adults are available
- Personal ticket for 1–3 zones
- Valid for 60 minutes (1 zone) or 120 minutes (2–3 zones) from the time of purchase
- Entitles the holder to transfer from one Linkki public transport bus to another within the zones marked on the ticket during the period of validity
2. Contactless payment ticket
- Ticket purchased on the bus with a bank or credit card or other contactless payment method
- Restriction: contactless payment can only be used to pay for your own journey, not for your travel companion's journey
- One price for all customer groups
- Personal ticket for 1–3 zones
- Valid for 90 minutes from the time of purchase (1–3 zones)
- Entitles the holder to transfer from one Linkki public transport bus to another within the zones for which the ticket was purchased during its period of validity. The right to transfer is checked at the beginning of each transfer journey using the same payment method used to purchase the ticket.
- The ticket has a payment cap, i.e. a maximum daily charge.

3. Mobile ticket
- Adult and child ticket
- Personal ticket for zones 1–3
- Purchased from the Waltti Mobiili app or from the apps of individual operators (Jyväskylä Tickets/PayIQ, Onnibus, VR, Perille.fi)
- Valid for 60 minutes (1-zone ticket) or 120 minutes (2–3-zone ticket) from the time of purchase
- Entitles the holder to transfer from one Linkki public transport bus to another within the zones for which the ticket was purchased during its period of validity. The right to transfer is checked at the start of each transfer journey using a ticket inspection device from the ticket view in the app.

Single tickets sold by Matkahuolto on regional transport vehicles do not entitle the holder to travel or transfer on Linkki public transport.
Day ticket
- Adult, child, or youth ticket
- Personal 3-zone ticket
- Available from Linkki service points (cardboard ticket), R-kiosks (paper printout) or the app (mobile ticket)
- The price is determined based on the customer group and the number of days of validity
- Validity period 1-60 days (price = daily price x number of travel days)
- Tickets purchased from R-kiosks and mobile apps are valid from the time of purchase. Cardboard tickets purchased from Linkki service points are valid when scanned by a Linkki ticket inspection device on the first journey.
- Entitles the holder to travel on Linkki public transport routes, Jyväskylä Linkki-VIP service vehicles and Waltti regional transport services.
Season ticket
- Tickets for children, young people, students, adults, and seniors
- Personal ticket for 1–3 zones
- The price is determined based on the length of the season, customer group and travel zones
- Loaded onto a Waltti travel card or the Waltti Mobiili app
- Valid for 30, 90, 180 days or one year (except for student season tickets, which are only available for 30 or 90 days). Only 30-day season tickets are available in the Waltti Mobiili app.
- The season starts when the ticket is used for the first time (= when the ticket is scanned by the Linkki card reader)
- The ticket can be used on Linkki public transport lines, Jyväskylä Linkki-VIP service vehicles and Waltti regional transport services
Value ticket
- Tickets for children, young people, students, adults, and seniors
- Personal or holder-specific 1–3 zone ticket (senior and student tickets are personal only).
- Value, i.e. money, is loaded onto the Waltti travel card in advance (max. €500) and used when traveling; the value remains on the card for 5 years after loading.
- Validity period: 60 minutes with a 1-zone ticket, 120 minutes with a 2–3-zone ticket.
- The ticket can be used on Linkki public transport lines, Jyväskylä Linkki-VIP service vehicles and Waltti regional transport services.
Paying for another person's journey with a value ticket
A personal value ticket can also be used to pay for the journeys of passengers in the same age group or younger. The journey will be charged according to the age group of the cardholder. A prerequisite for sharing a value ticket is that the passengers traveling with the same value ticket travel together for the entire journey.
The exceptions are senior and student value tickets: they cannot be used to pay for another person's travel, as they are personal benefits.
Value and season ticket on the same Waltti travel card
You can load both value and a season ticket onto your personal travel card.
Travel rights are always checked primarily from the season ticket. If you want the fare to be charged from the travel card's stored value instead of the season ticket, do the following:
- Enter EXCEPTIONAL JOURNEY on the ticket inspection device
- Select the zones corresponding to your journey on the screen
- Bring your travel card close to the ticket inspection device only after you have entered the above information.
If you bring your travel card close to the ticket inspection device right away, the fare will be charged automatically from your season ticket.
