Instructions for Linkki passengers
12 tips for a pleasant journey
- Be at the stop on time and give a clear sign that you want to board.
- Seats are filled starting from the window seats, standing room starting from the back of the bus. If the bus becomes full, move towards the back. Step aside and make room for passengers getting off.
- Be polite and give your seat to someone who needs it more, such as an elderly person.
- Seats are for people only – do not put your shoes, luggage or pets on the seats.
- Eating, drinking and smoking are not allowed.
- Do not leave trash on the bus.
- Avoid using strong perfumes.
- The bus or bus stop is not a place for smoking – this applies to both electric and regular cigarettes.
- If you listen to music, etc., use headphones. Take loud phone calls elsewhere.
- Inform the driver of any disturbances or hazards you notice in the bus.
- When getting off, give a stop signal in good time.
- Be aware of traffic on the light traffic getting off the vehicle.
Accessibility at Linkki
- Linkki public transport buses are mainly low-floor buses up to the middle section. Wheelchair and mobility aid (e.g., rollator) access is via the middle door. If the middle section of the bus is full, the last person to board must wait for the next bus.
- Useissa Linkeissä on alas laskettava pyörätuoliluiska (max. kantavuus 300 kg) ja niiausmekanismi eli auton kallistus pysäkin suuntaan nousukorkeuden mataloittamiseksi.
- Many buses have a fold-down wheelchair ramp (max. load capacity 300 kg) and a tilt mechanism, i.e. the bus tilts toward the stop to lower the boarding height.
- Park your rollator in the center and make sure it stays in place. Move to a seat for the duration of the journey or hold on to the grab bars and handles.
- Visually impaired customers: The route sign is located at the top of the front window and on the side of the bus. The route signs are made using visible LED technology and are as large as possible. Passengers with poor eyesight can check the route and direction from the side sign or from the driver when the bus is stationary at a stop. Some central stops have stop displays with a separate button for converting text to speech.
- Seats marked with signs are reserved for special groups (senior citizens, people with physical or sensory disabilities, pregnant women) in front of the driver.
- Linkki VIP service transport provides excellent facilities for passengers with reduced mobility or those traveling with assistive devices.
- Regional transport vehicles are not as accessible as local transport vehicles, which imposes restrictions on traveling with assistive devices or strollers.
Traveling safely with a stroller
- Board through the middle door and push the stroller/pram in with the seat facing forward. Position yourself in the middle of the bus in the area reserved for strollers and prams, taking other passengers into consideration.
- If you move to the seats with your child, lock the wheels of the stroller for the duration of the journey and make sure it remains upright. Linkki does not have separate fastening mechanisms for strollers.
- Do not leave your child alone in the stroller during the journey; make sure the stroller remains in place. Try to anticipate when the Linkki will brake.
- When leaving the bus, use the stroller button in the middle of the bus, if there is one. Exit through the middle door, reversing, and pull the stroller or pram behind you out of the bus.

Pets on Linkki
You can take a normal, harmless pet with you on a Linkki journey free of charge, provided there is room in the bus. If the bus is full or there are already pets on board, the driver may have to refuse to allow your pet to travel. The same may apply if there is a passenger on board who is allergic or has a similar reason for objecting to pets being allowed on board.
The pet owner is responsible for ensuring that the animal does not disturb or dirty the vehicle during the journey. Keep your pet on a leash and seat it either on your lap or on the floor during the journey. Police dogs and guide and assistance dogs always have free access to Linkki.
Bicycles and electric scooters
Regular bicycles and electric scooters/kickboards can be transported on Linkki if there is space in the middle section. The owner of the bicycle or scooter must ensure that their device remains upright and in place during the journey. In the case of larger than normal bikes, electric bikes, or other special models, the driver will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to allow them on board.
Transportation costs €2 in cash and cannot be paid by contactless payment or travel card. There is no transportation fee for folding bicycles or scooters.
Luggage
No separate luggage fees are charged for luggage. Bags can be carried either on your lap or on the floor – the seats are reserved for people only. Other large luggage items can also be transported in the bus, but the driver will decide on a case-by-case basis whether they can be accommodated.
Passengers are responsible for their own luggage during the journey. Luggage must not cause any inconvenience or danger to other passengers or the structure of the bus. For safety reasons, it is prohibited to transport flammable liquids, explosives and other dangerous substances (e.g. gas cylinders) in the bus.
Eating and drinking
Eating snacks is not permitted on Linkki local transport buses. Please enjoy your food and drink before or after your journey.
Accidents
Situations may arise in a moving vehicle that result in personal injury or property damage. It is important to report the damage to the driver immediately after it occurs, as the driver may not always be aware of everything that happens in the passenger compartment. Investigating the damage after the fact can be challenging. The report is also needed for the insurance company's damage report.
