Linkki-VIP service transport

The City of Jyväskylä provides open Linkki-VIP service transport for all residents. This service complements regular public transport and is also suitable for customers who need more personal assistance when traveling.

Linkki-VIP minibuses operate on weekdays (Mon–Fri), transporting customers to Jyväskylä city centre, district centres, health stations, and other service locations. The vehicles are air-conditioned, accessible minibuses with seatbelts and seating for 14 passengers. Each vehicle also has two spaces for wheelchair users or passengers with prams.

Each of the six Linkki-VIP vehicles operates within its own service area and makes trips from there to Jyväskylä city centre. Linkki-VIP vehicles 1–4 arrive at Vapaudenkatu in central Jyväskylä on the hour. The exceptions are Linkki-VIP 5, which serves the Palokka area, and Linkki-VIP 6, which serves the Vaajakoski area. Their routes include sparsely populated rural areas, resulting in longer travel times. Therefore, Linkki-VIP 5 and 6 can visit the city centre only twice during the operating day.

The City of Jyväskylä is responsible for organising the service transport. The operator, selected through competitive tendering, is Tilausajot Mennään Bussilla Oy.

Waltti tickets and fares in use

The Linkki public transport Waltti ticket system is used in service transport. You may travel with a cash ticket purchased from the driver or with a travel card (value or season ticket).

War veterans and disabled war veterans may obtain their travel cards free of charge at the Linkki Service Point.

How to use Linkki-VIP

Each of the six Linkki-VIP vehicles operates within its service area according to its own timetable. You can board at the scheduled stops listed in the timetables, but on request the vehicle may make small detours — even directly to your home yard.

Journeys and pick-up times are agreed in advance by calling or texting the vehicle’s service number.

Korpilahti Errand Transport

In various parts of the former Korpilahti municipality area, residents are served by an open errand transport service operated by taxis and organised by the City of Jyväskylä.

Errand transport provides connections from surrounding villages to Korpilahti’s village centre and to the Keljo shopping centre. Small route deviations can be made on request. The fare is the standard public transport cash ticket price and is paid in cash to the driver. Rides are booked by calling 050 449 9628.
